We Are a
Guided Walk
With a Difference.
Taking place in parks and gardens across the city, we lead guided walks of familiar places, to look at them in a new way, learn about plants and their characteristics, and have a go at drawing what we see.
All expertly led by our qualified leaders - socially engaged garden designer Lucy Pearce and one of our roster of professional artists.
Celebrating the beauty and joy of everyday encounters with plants WALK TALK DRAW is made for lovers of nature and creativity, and anyone open to seeing the world afresh.

It’s a unique offering for team-building events, offering participants the chance to slow down, recharge, and reconnect.
Centring observation and appreciation, WALK TALK DRAW invites a sense of child-like wonder in noticing the smallest of details - the hairs on a leaf, or the pattern of a flower.
WALK TALK DRAW isn't restricted to lushly planted gardens; it can just as easily take place in the space between corporate offices, a school playground, or the local park.
It’s about looking in a new way, seeing what we notice, and drawing it.
WALK TALK DRAW invites participants to slow down, recharge, and reconnect.
An exercise in observation and appreciation, garden designer Lucy will open your eyes to plant characteristics, & the artist will lead us in drawing exercises. No prior knowledge or skills are required.
Participants leave having learned and tried something new.
FOR YOUR TEAM
WALK TALK DRAW is a unique team-building experience that can take place in the area around your office or at an away-day venue. A chance for your people to slow down, recharge, and reconnect — and to see the city they work in with genuinely new eyes.
We work with charities, cultural institutions, and global organisations alike, and can tailor the programme to suit your group. Pricing is on a sliding scale so it works for small local organisations as well as larger ones.
Get in touch to tell us about your plans and let's see what we can make happen.
“The real voyage of discovery consists, not in seeking new landscapes but in having new eyes.”

What People Are Saying
These are the words participants used when asked to describe their experience of WALK TALK DRAW in just one word.
Being part of the WALK TALK DRAW with Lucy and Ellie was a truly lovely experience. I joined with my family, and even my children found it inspiring and engaging.
Lucy’s genuine care for plants really shines through; she beautifully transmits her passion and knowledge in a way that feels both accessible and meaningful.
Together, they created a calm and peaceful atmosphere that invited us to slow down, observe, and create. By the end of the walk, I felt my energy completely renewed; and time had flown by without me noticing.
I would absolutely do it again and recommend it to anyone looking for a thoughtful, creative, and restorative experience.

Looking forward to the next WALK TALK DRAW session! I attended one in the gardens behind Walthamstow’s William Morris Gallery in Lloyd Park.
I highly recommend for anyone who wants to learn a bit about plants while unlocking their creativity.
Expertly guided through the garden by Lucy from Outfront Designs, we learnt about a selection of plants, particularly those with interesting structure or texture.
Lucy has a warm, approachable style, happy to answer questions and connect with attendees. She kept my daughter and me engaged yet relaxed, exactly the right frame of mind to have a go at sketching plants with practical tips and suggestions from a professional artist who was very encouraging and supportive (and provided all drawing materials).
Although we were in a busy park on a holiday weekend in NE London, the Walk Talk Draw session felt like a welcome reprieve from the daily grind. It was a bit of bliss!
Laurie, Walthamstow
My experience of WALK TALK DRAW exceeded my expectations!
Lucy's enthusiasm for the plants and planting shone through, and Barry was brilliant at making drawing a simple thing to try. It was much more fun (and less scary) to try and draw the plants than I expected.
They were both great advocates for drawing in nature, and simply letting yourself be in the moment. In fact, I was enjoying it so much that I remember being a bit disappointed when it was finished!
It was much more relaxing than expected and I’d absolutely do it again.
Sarah, Walthamstow

ABOUT US
I’m Lucy, a planting and garden designer with a special interest in the beauty and joy of everyday encounters with plants - in private rear gardens, and in shared spaces, whether at the front of our homes or in public parks.
I feel passionately that everyone has the right to experience beauty and joy in their everyday lives and want to be part of making that happen. When we’re focused on what is in front of us, time can slow down. We slow down. We notice. We breathe. We live.
